We've actually been looking at and testing both Screwturn wiki & Roadkill wiki.
Screwturn recently announced development is being discountinued.
Roadkill looks promising, but it's still a very young project and somewhat feature light if you're used a full featured wiki.
Our intention is to integrate and seamlessly blend the wiki into the rest of the site.
I suppose we could just pop something out there temporarily, but "temporary" projects like that, all too often tend to somehow become semi-permanent far outliving their intended purpose.

Well consider a temporary solution. You can always copy pasted the content into the new and official wiki.
Maybe I lack the right skills but this NG just seems unworkable to discuss a complex topic such as EverNight. Alot of the functionailty and how the NG's work frustrate me to no end.
I just cant keep track of the big picture. Alot of good discussion gets buried fast in reply trees.
A wiki would allow for easier and more transparent division of topics. Behind a topic is a disccuion. and the topic who then contain a summary of the discussion, the questions to be answered, a todo list and finally but NOT least a final decision on how to proceed regarding that topic.
Please, have mercy.

I've tried following a discussion on various wikis on the net. They're usually an eyesore. But they are somewhat easy to follow at least.
I do agree that the newsgroups need a design update. If they worked more like normal forums in that a reply to a specific post doesn't create a new branch of the tree, and the entirety of the original discussion can be read all in the same thread, it'd be easier to follow.
I wager that this could be prevented by making it so that only the latest entry in the thread can be replied to might work with this old archaic forum.
Other options might include changing the post order in a QO. Making it so the oldest post is at the top and the newest at the bottom. I have found in other forums, users are much more inclined to follow a discussion that runs oldest to newest than newest to oldest.

Yeah, we know.
Tedious is probably the nicest thing you can say about the Evernight newsgroup message threading stucture.
A new modern web forum is definitely in the works to replace the lobby newsgroups. That's planned to be included in the relaunch.

Will all the current data in the newsgroups be moved over to the new forums? Or do I need to go into all the RP newsgroups and start copy/pasting stuff?

In one form or another I expect we'll port the data.
