Slower Games

Submitted by Halcyon_Ninja 7/6/2012 5:47:00 AM {time} ago

Hello all. It's been many years since I've played Evernight but I did love the game. One reason I haven't played for so long is that I am very time poor. Could I suggest some games that tick perhaps only once or twice a week. I know this would drag a game out for a long period of time but that would suit me & perhaps others. If someone in my position can have at least one slow ongoing game it may generate interest in a faster game on occasion as time permits.

Long duration games are certainly something we want to start again. With long duration games, there needs to be a big enough community intersted in that type of game to kick it off. Also, A solid notification system needs to be in place so that players dont "Forget" about their Long duration game or can mark their game, "Made my moves for next tick", that is displayed in the game list.

Once upon a time, to my knowledge, VR1 had a system that would email you when your tick was approaching and when the game had ticked.

I do remember way back when I first started playing they used to send out a tick summary email.
Then somewhere along the way there was a technical problem of some sort and as a "quick fix" they turned the emails off. That was the end of tick emails.

Enabling user configurable notifications/reminders/etc. is high on our list of things to implement.

We used to have slower games. The "Timepiece of Chron" games. They ticked 3 days a week. Mon-Wed-Fri.
There was usually always one or two of them going.
We'll certainly have them again. It's just a matter of player interest and demand.
The minimum threshold is we need enough players interested so that the game fills and starts in a reasonable time.
When there's enough player interest to fill a particular game format (large, small, fast, slow, etc) we'll run it.
