- Button to the calculators - a STG game TAB in the lobby for duels. many more solo player games. (wyrm419)
Fix the community page. set it up so that that you see when you open the page you get the topics, then a group of un opened tabs below stacked one atop the other. if you click a tab or the topic links, only that window opens on the page.
as it is now is a wall of text.takes forever to scroll through it all. Yuck...

- Game Voting system : The voting system would be the fourth tab, next to Browse a Game, in the Lobby. I would coin it 'Vote a Game'
Its basically a wall like in facebook. Players can make entries which are posted on the page (4th tab). Other players can vote on the entries expressing their interest to play that game. Entries are ordered from most voted to least voted.

Not necessarily. The entry made by the player would contain a description, including settings (ELEM and so on), of the game he wants to see created by an admin. People can vote on his entry and if the game is popular the game gets created. No real game is created by the player.

Oh, I get it.
Neat idea.
Basically, it's a tab that allows a player to post a public poll. And the poll contains the game data info. The other users on the site then give a vote of whether or not they'd play in it.
I approve. This would be great for player input and could help create a steady flow of games that would roll through the "join a game" page quickly.
Also, this helps solve the issue of people who don't like to use the newsgroups, and lurkers who just want to vote or give input anonymously.

Yeah, that page could be much better.
It's probably something we'll just live with for the next month and half or so.
Pretty much all of the ancillary lobby pages (settings, subs, news, community, FAQ, help, etc) are being revamped and reorganized as part of the re-launch.
We don't expect that we'll nail everything perfectly on the first effort. We're definitely going to be wanting more feedback and suggestions at that point for round two updates.

All that information might fit well in an EN wiki.

Integrating a wiki for much of that kind of stuff is something we've actually aready discussed.
We like the idea, but at the moment it's looking less likely that a wiki will make the cut for the initial relaunch.

The Tribunal.
A system that looks into unsportsmanlike behaviour and suggests a punishment. This ystem is already setup in the League of Legends community.
http://euw.leagueoflegends.com/tribunal/en/faq/
League of Legends has some similarities with EverNight. In both games tensions can rise and volatile behaviour is rampant (when the playerbase was huge that is)
The tribunal would consist of all players of veteran status. An admin could decide wether or not to excecute the suggested punishment.
To make it work you need a Codex containing the Law of EN. Ofcourse not all games should be run under a Tribunal. Some players do enjoy the odd excursion into the grey areas.

This idea has been around forever and ever and ever and ever and ever...
Hell, I was hearing about this "tribunal of elders" crap before I started playing EN.
It's not a terrible idea. So long as it's not forced into all games. But in general, I tend to dislike the idea.

I went and took a look at league of legends particularly their tribunal concept and it's faq.
It looks like a very well thought out system. Certainly an approach worth considering, but probably way more eleborate than necessary for our needs for now.
Evernight already has, and has always had by memory, a reasonably decent CoC for appropriate behavior guidelines.
A player peer tribunal system would I think grow out of necessity if the community becomes so big, and issues so frequent, that case by case handling becomes unwieldly.

This is sort of possible with a "Like" and "Not Like" scenario - have an issue put to the community to vote, votes are collectd through an automated form.
Now as to retribution, thats an interesting one.. te "winner" by popular demand is just that, popular, notnecessarily right...
Butthey could definately have a court of public opinion that would be better than having lots of posts going both ways...
