We're listening. For players who wish to have a voice in the future of Evernight, this is the place to talk to management. This is the newsgroup we'll be actively monitoring on a daily basis.
Default ingame map size.

Make it a larger size. its horable for the newb to try and figure the game out on such a tiny map. kinda on the same note. Set the game to color all players on the map as they join. most newbs do not lear to change the colors before they are turned off. wyrm
M size relates to game size. Can't have a monitor that wraps the whole thing can we?
But it is a bit restrictive opening it would help

I started working on the Map this last weekend. I am looking into auto sizing up to the max size while also respecting player-configurable sizing as well. The current map view is a tough area to deal with and I am hitting that part of this project head on.
Anybody figured out how to have a world that's not a donut?
Wouldn't a globe be cool, you could animate it to rotate to the region of interest.

Ah.... old_ugly you stole my thunder ha!!! A globe map version is exactly right!!! I feel a huge deterrent to this game right now is graphics and effects. I am sure this has to do with how outdated all the systems of this game are. (I am not any sort of graphics/code guy, just guessing) I do realize it’s probably not the easiest thing to fix/create a whole new globe style map as well as creating intense graphics.
But for the sake of throwing ideas out there. Here I Go....
1) A High definition Globe style world map would be amazing!!! Imagine google earth evernight style!!! Grab the globe and spin it around and zoom in and out with the flick of a finger.
2) Is any sort of video possible? Like a video of that ticks battles. Sort of a movie trailer snip of what occurred in a big battle.
3) Customizable forms? Avatar style? Not changing forms stats or abilities but their look and color and subtle details that the younger players now a days love to do!!!
4) Customizable Audio? Chimes for e-mails sent or received and the hundreds of related things that can go along with that.
5 )Also incorporating text messaging alerts for e-mails and ticks and news etc...
6) Taking a page out of the current online gaming going on and create a sort of headset or computer mic live voice/skype like interface with players. Games can be created say to start and finish in a set time limit with "x" amount of players that are connected live and can talk to each other while playing. It can be a team game format where only teams can hear and talk to each other about strategy, or an individual game that only players of your choosing can hear you like you set naps. imagine the game types that could be created using this type of feature. Random team games or individual games with a randomized map and nap outcome.
I do realize that the above ideas are probably outlandish and expensive. Would take years of programming and gobs of money. But maybe some of those things are remotely possible? I see a paid subscribers scale here too. pay more for video and more for chat and etc... I am not a computer programmer so I may be way off base with the reality of this.
...Sorry went way off topic here got too excited!!! ha
Thanks for doing what you can to fix this game. I am excited!!!

Thanks BlackHawk. Some interesting ideas.
1) We are currently working on some pretty significant improvements on on usability the map for the initial relaunch. Though it's still the same core map engine under the hood.
Plans to eventually move to a "tile" based map (enabling google map style scrolling and zooming) or possibly a even vector based map of some kind are on the drawing board.
2) Video? Possible, but no current plans. We don't have the production capabilities as this time for video.
3) Ideas for cosmetic individual customizations are on the table for discusssion.
4) Audio? Sure, why not. Simple notification type chimes would certainly be easy enough to do. Background music or soundtrack? See answer to #2.
5) Text messaging for alerts is in the plans.
6) We have no plans for a voice system. Although we would consider looking into the feasiblity of adding the elements necessary for players to invoke and find each other on their favorite chat/com clients (Skype, YIM, AIM, etc.)

When you refer to size, you mean zoom level.
I think the size of the world should be adjustable - a game option.

That's a good point. It wasn't really focused in my mind that new players were getting such a tiny default map view such. I agree, horrible.
That issue is going away. Not just for new players, for everyone.
We've got the in-game map view working so that it automatically maximize to use all the available space in the window.
No manual settings changes required. Simply however much space your window has, that's how big the map view will be.
